Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The Lord has been working in our lives in amazing ways, and we are being led to join God in what He is doing in Utah. We desire to reach this very unreached area in America, and we are being led to be a part of a church plant, which is Alpine Bible Church in Lehi, Utah.
We are a family of five. We have three wonderful children: David (7), Autumn (4), and Kharis Grace (2). For the past five years, we have been doing ministry in Sumner, Mississippi where I was the pastor of First Baptist Church Sumner. We were truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful community. In August 2021, the Lord laid it on our hearts to visit Utah. Our good friend had recently been on a trip to Lehi and told us of how the area is unreached. Rachel and I went on a vision trip in September to Lehi, UT. After visiting there and spending time with the people at Alpine Bible Church, God made it abundantly clear that this is where He desires us to serve.
Rachel and I met while attending First Baptist Church Hattiesburg in Mississippi. Both of us have always wanted to do missions. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi, I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. During our time in seminary, we led a house church for African refugees. After seminary, we were led to Sumner as a pastor family. During all of this, missions has always remained on our hearts, and the Lord is clearly leading us now to do missions in Utah.
Alpine Bible Church was planted in 2009 and is currently the only church building in Lehi, which has a population of about 80,000 people. In Utah County, there is only one church for every 25,000 people. It is very unreached as most people are either Mormon or atheist. We are going to be part of what God is doing through Alpine Bible Church. We look forward to helping further church planting as we share the true Gospel.
Due to this difficult transition, we need much support. First, we need your support through prayer. Pray that we would experience God’s peace, provision, and presence throughout all of this move. Most importantly, pray that the name of Christ would be known and honored in Utah as more people step into a relationship with Him. Secondly, we need your support financially. Through your financial support, we will be able to get our feet planted in an unknown territory for our family. We are in need of $10,000 to move out to Utah and to get settled there. If you feel led to give a donation to help us reach this goal, we would greatly appreciate it. Through your prayers and financial giving, you too can join God in reaching the unreached people in Utah.
We thank you for your love, support, prayers, giving, and encouragement! May we all work together and desire God’s Kingdom to advance and for the name of Jesus be praised! He is worthy!
In Christ,
Shane and Rachel Hoes
