Young Adults

Being a “young adult” can be a crazy time in life. This is a time of independence and being out on your own for the first time, a time of singleness, a time of being newly married, a time of transition and finding purpose in life, or a time of transplanting and moving to a new area (especially in a growing state like Utah). In the midst of all this craziness, our heart as a group is to help people stay grounded and rooted in Christ.

“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:6-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

As a group, we seek to provide a community of believers in similar stages of life. At the heart of our group is a weekly in-depth bible study where we gather for fellowship, prayer, and feasting on God’s word. In addition, we seek out volunteer opportunities and social events throughout the year

All are welcome to come check us out and see if we would be a good fit for you.

Charlie and Rilla Smott

Charlie Smoot

He grew up in Wisconsin and eventually moved out to Utah in 2015 for work and to play in the mountains. After wandering through life like a lost sheep, he eventually found the Lord in 2019 and started attending Alpine Bible Church. One of his first experiences at Alpine was attending the young adults group where he was able to find discipleship and grow in his faith. It was through Alpine where he also met his now wife Rilla. Together they are passionate for continuing the Young Adults group that was pivotal for their own growth. His favorite part about leading the young adults group is getting to meet young Christians who come from different places and work different jobs but have the common goal of serving the Lord here in Utah.

Rilla Smoot

She grew up Christian and went to a Baptist church up in West Valley most of her life. She moved down to Utah County to attend UVU and joined Alpine right after graduating (summer 2017). She loved being a part of a Christian fellowship in college and seeing young adults grow both in their relationship with God and in Christian community. Early adulthood is such a critical time in determining one’s faith, which is why she was excited to be a part of the young adults connection group. Since meeting Charlie at ABC, they have enjoyed growing into the church community and participating in ministry together.
