Food Pantry
In light of God’s Word calling His church to care for orphans, widows, and to love our neighbors, as well as the ever-increasing cost of living, the Food Pantry exists to provide for the spiritual and physical needs of the community. We strive to use this ministry to share God’s love in word and in deed by nourishing both the body and spirit of each individual who comes through the doors.
We began our Food Pantry ministry during the COVID-19 pandemic out of an awareness of physical needs in our area during that time. While we have faithfully run the Food Pantry every Tuesday since November of 2020, we have seen it grow far beyond what we initially envisioned. We currently partner with local grocers and stores that provide us with safe and healthy free food every week for the people who walk through our doors.
Because of the Food Pantry, our Alpine Bible Church members have the opportunity to minister to vulnerable, diverse people groups and provide a safe place to encounter Christ-centered community. For example, our volunteers help families shop for food, load their groceries into their cars, and pray over any needs before they leave. We celebrate God’s choosing to use this ministry to grow his kingdom in ways such as new decisions for Christ and baptisms. We look forward to continuing to partner with our community through the Food Pantry and are always looking for more ABC members to get involved!
For more information on how to get involved, please email Robbie & Alexis Beitman using the Contact tab above or click here for the volunteer signup.
Since we started the Food Pantry, we have:
- Fed 11,000 families.
- Ministered to people from 6 different continents.
- Operated our Food Pantry for 138 continuous weeks.
Food Pantry FAQs
Anyone is welcome! The Food Pantry exists to provide for needs in the community. We do not require verification of need nor any form of identification.
The Food Pantry operates every Tuesday from 6:00-7:30pm (or whenever we run out of food). It is on a first come, first served basis.
The Food Pantry is first-come, first-served, and there is no seat saving. Doors open to start lining up on Tuesdays at 4:00pm. When the Food Pantry begins at 6:00pm, you will be taken through the pantry with a shopper who will assist you as you choose your items. We will also walk you to your car to help you load. Due to limited resources, we ask that each family unit shop together.
Unfortunately, we do not have a system to reserve food in advance. We receive all of our food by donation each week and do not always know what we will have or how much we will have in advance.
If you would like to donate something to the food pantry, please reach out to let us know what it is you would like to donate.
If you need to send someone to get food on your behalf, please reach out to us in advance.
Unless previously approved to shop for multiple families, we ask that you only shop for one family unit.
