Pursuit: Men’s Ministry
Men are constantly in pursuit of something, and today’s world is filled with distractions, wrong turns, and dangerous roads. Our goal is to help men maintain a focus on Jesus and a path in pursuit of Biblical Manhood.
Our Men’s Ministry provides a focus on these four Pursuits:
- Men Devoted to Jesus
Matthew 16:24- Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to come after me, he must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me”.
- Men Leading Courageously
Joshua 1:9- “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed, for the Lord your god is with you wherever you go.”
- Men Seeking Camaraderie
Hebrews 10:24-25- “Lets consider how to encourage one another in love and good deeds, not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encourage one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”
- Men Walking in Integrity
Proverbs 4:25-27- “Let your eyes look directly ahead. And let your gaze be fixed straight in form of you. Watch the path of your feet, and all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right or to the left; turn your foot from evil.”
Activities
Men spending time together is an essential part of creating and strengthening a community of men, and it is one of our 4 pursuits- Camaraderie. We create regular opportunities to bring men together for strengthening our walk with Jesus and to have fun!

- Monthly Men’s Breakfast (3rd Saturday of the month – 8 AM)
- Quarterly Men’s social events
- Periodic service projects

Pursuit: Men’s Ministry
Join us on this year’s Men’s Retreat!
When: September 18-20, 2025. Thursday 4:00 PM – Saturday 2:00 PM [First session will start Friday at 10:00 AM]
Where: Pinecliff Camp in Coalville, UT
Cost: $95 per person (scholarships are available)
Register
All men are invited to come together at the 2025 Men’s Retreat held at a beautiful location less than 2 hours from Lehi. The retreat will kick off at 10:00 AM Friday and end 2:00 PM Saturday. We will have a guest speaker with 3 teaching sessions and plenty free time to enjoy the resort. Registration is at 9:00 AM Friday, but men are invited to come up Thursday after 4:00 PM and enjoy the resort in advance of the retreat beginning on Friday. The retreat is a great time to get into some beautiful country, connect with men and focus on our walk with Jesus. Young men 15 or older are invited to attend. (If your son is younger than 15- please discuss with John Schumacher.)
Lodging
Cabins: There 10+ cabins with bunks are available. No indoor bathroom- Bathroom/ showers are a short walk. Each man will need to bring their own bedding / sleeping bag
Tent Camping: Bring your own tent- Multiple tent spots also available. Also, plenty of trees to accommodate the hammock camper!
RV Camping: There are sites available with electric hookup.
Food: We will have a large commercial kitchen and will have a team that will be cooking up some great chow- You will not go hungry!
Speaker: Larry Adams is a retired Senior Pastor of Golden Hills Community Church in Brentwood, California. He served in this role for 35 years. He has also served in mentoring and coaching for churches across the west.

John Schumacher
The Men’s Ministry is led by a team of men, John Schumacher serves as the team leader.
John has been following Jesus since 1992 and has been married to his wife, Karina since 1988. He has two adult children who are married- with one grandchild and counting. His family moved from Illinois in 2019 to live in an area of natural beauty- Mission accomplished!
John retired from the risk management industry in 2022 and spends his time in ministry pursuits and in the outdoors of Utah- hunting, camping, hiking and skiing. He has a passion for being among other Christian men and together, pursuing a stronger relationship with Jesus.
